A transcendent romance is set to begin. JTBC’s new weekend drama More Beautiful Than Heaven premieres on Saturday, April 19 at 10:40 p.m., airing every Saturday and Sunday night.

Actress Lee Jung-eun is taking on yet another transformative role in More Beautiful Than Heaven.
On April 7, the production team of More Beautiful Than Heaven (directed by Kim Seok-yoon, written by Nam-kyu Lee and Kim Soo-jin, produced by Studio Phoenix and SLL) released character stills of Lee Jung-eun, perfectly embodying the eccentric and uniquely named “Lee Young-ae.”
The series follows Hae-sook (played by Kim Hye-ja), who arrives in heaven in her 80s only to reunite with her much younger husband Nak-joon (Son Suk-ku) in his 30s. What unfolds is a whimsical and heartwarming afterlife romance that begins at the end of life.
With a stellar cast and a production team known for creating beloved works, expectations are high. Among the most anticipated performances is that of Lee Jung-eun, who is expected to deliver a bold and irreplaceable presence. Her character, Young-ae, regards Hae-sook as both a parent and mentor.
She fiercely protects her boss with girl-crush intensity, yet has a surprisingly romantic side—quick to fall in love at a moment’s notice.
The newly released stills reveal Young-ae’s undeniable charisma, dressed in a flashy dragon-print shirt, gold necklace, and a bold hairstyle that instantly captures attention. Her quirky appearance contrasts sharply with her intense gaze, hinting at a formidable personality.
One image captures a moment of intense umbrella-training—an homage to Hae-sook’s signature self-defense move.
As she stands by Hae-sook’s side at the market, enduring chaos, her serious expression hints at an inevitable farewell between the two.
Lee Jung-eun is expected to deliver a moving and powerful “womance” with veteran actress Kim Hye-ja.
“When I heard it was a story told by director Kim Seok-yoon and teacher Kim Hye-ja, I didn’t hesitate to join,” Lee said. “Young-ae is someone who was abandoned by her parents but was taken in by the boss (Hae-sook). The boss is her entire world—her happiness is Young-ae’s happiness.”
JTBC’s More Beautiful Than Heaven will premiere on Saturday, April 19 at 10:40 p.m., and will air every Saturday at 10:40 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
