(SEOUL, April 6, 2025) — As tvN’s weekend drama The Potato Research Institute reaches its finale, viewers are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the heartfelt romance between Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin) and So Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh).

Ahead of the final episode airing tonight, the production team released new stills highlighting So Baek-ho’s last-ditch effort to win back Mi-kyung’s heart. Armed with what fans are calling his “soft peach” strategy—a mix of gentle charm and unrelenting sincerity—Baek-ho is determined to melt Mi-kyung’s heart.

In the previous episode, the couple faced yet another emotional crossroads. Burdened by guilt, Baek-ho tried to step away from Mi-kyung, believing it was the right thing to do.

However, Mi-kyung expressed her disappointment at his lack of effort to fight for their relationship. “Couldn’t you have tried, just once, to make me stay?” she asked. In response, Baek-ho vulnerably confessed, “If I say I love you, would you come to me?” stirring emotions and fueling hopes for a happy ending after their complicated past.

The newly revealed stills show Baek-ho doing everything he can to prove his feelings. Encouraged by Mi-kyung’s words, he sets out on a path of emotional honesty. Although Mi-kyung remains visibly guarded, Baek-ho stays by her side with quiet determination—delivering lunchboxes and patiently waiting with his trademark tenderness.

Another touching moment captures the two in a warm embrace. After Mi-kyung receives a distressing phone call, Baek-ho comforts her as she breaks down in tears, hinting at a turning point in their relationship.

The production team commented, “In the finale airing tonight, viewers will see So Baek-ho’s final mission to win Kim Mi-kyung back. His unwavering determination and heartfelt efforts will bring laughter and heart-fluttering moments until the very end.”

tvN’s The Potato Research Institute finale airs tonight at 9:20 p.m. KST.
